We are providing ways to Uninstall Windows Defender, that does not mean we don’t like it. In fact, it is one of the best free antivirus suites available to the public but if you already have a paid subscription to one of the best antiviruses on the market, then there is no point in wasting system resources in windows defender.

Well, you can try and uninstall the program but the windows update will restore the anyway. So, the best option for you is to disable the real-time protection of windows defenders. Windows Defender is a small program that does not take too much space and it will take even fewer resources when real-time protection is disabled. Besides, it would be like a backup for your main antivirus program installed on the system.

However, in windows 10 the real-time protection is turned off automatically it detects another app running in the background. So, you won’t need to disable the program by yourself.

Anyway, here are the steps to disable windows defender antivirus.

1. The name of the app is changed to Windows Security and you have to search for it on the windows start menu.

2. Open the first option and click on Virus and Threat Protection option to proceed further.

3. Now, you need to click on the ‘Windows Defender Antivirus Options’ link.

4. Now, you will see the Real Time Protection option on the next page.

5. Toggle the switch located next Realtime Protection and set it to Off.

Once you've done that, the Realtime protection will be turned off and you will be able to use the other antivirus as the preferred one.
